From chapter 2
For the first time in his life he felt that he was doing something
really important -- even more important than the long years spent
teaching history at various secondary schools nearby. The study and
decoding of old manuscripts had been his hobby for a long time, but
lately it has taken on a new meaning. Like a hunting beagle with its
nose close to the ground, he was buried deep in books and
manuscripts trailing the scent of the final answer to the puzzle he
had been trying to solve for more than two years. Now he was running
out of time.
The winter solstice was fast
approaching and with it the first of three predicted calamities
before the foretold final destruction, or possibly re-birth, of the
world three years down the road.
If his information was accurate,
the promised re-birth of the world in three years’ time had been
hijacked by a sinister group of would-be dictators. Instead of
allowing the world to step onto the path of harmony, tolerance and
mutual understanding, the conspirators planned to carry out a
three-stage program consisting of three ‘signs’ leading to the final
calamity in 2012. Their plan was to ultimately portray themselves as
saviours, worthy of leadership of the world.
From chapter 5
The blind man answered: “You’ve obviously got it all wrong, Marcus.
What we stand for is change! There are those who are called upon to
lead and rule, and there are those who must follow.”
From chapter 8
Nick reached with his right hand for the hall light switch. The
bright light transformed the dark and foreboding hall into the
familiar, tastefully decorated and welcoming entrance of their home.
Nothing seemed to be disturbed. Nick stepped further into the house
to look for signs of an intruder or intruders.
“Mum, call the police!” he whispered.
From chapter 10
As he slipped his key into the deadbolt, a very large and very
strong hand grabbed the back of his neck and pushed his head into
the hard solid oak door of the cottage. His forehead hit the wrought
iron doorknocker, causing excruciating pain between his eyes, but
not for long. For a split second he felt two pins pressing the side
of his neck and the last thing he heard was a buzzing and crackling
noise. His knees buckled and darkness fell over his eyes.
From chapter 15
What Sister Teresa had discovered was a naked body of a man, covered
in blood, hanging upside down, suspended from the rafters of the
chapel by one leg, with his left arm tied to his torso. His right
arm was severed just above the elbow and tucked under his left
armpit. His mouth and eyelids had been sewn shut.
From chapter 22
The Teacher asked: “My dervishes, what is the highest purpose of our
study and practice?”
“To polish our hearts, master,”
answered one of the pupils.
“What does that mean?”
“It means to remove the image of
the individual self, which like a veil, covers the eye of the
heart,” answered another student.
“And what would be the result of
uncovering of the veil?” asked again the Teacher.
“A polished heart reflects nothing
but God, master”, explained yet another of the young dervishes.
From chapter 28
From the ’Jesuits of Great Britain’ web-site. A passage from the
introduction by the Director of De Nobili Dialogue Centre.
“Inter religious dialogue is not about conversion; it is about
understanding. The aim is to encounter the people of different
faiths with sensitivity and respect in order to discern in the
meeting the movement of God’s spirit, which “blows where it wills.”
For Jesuits, dialogue with people of other faiths is a major
dimension of their commitment to be companions of Jesus and servants
of his mission.”
From chapter 29
In unison the seven placed their right hands on their foreheads and
said: “Ateh.”
Then they touched their breasts. “Malkuth.”
Then they touched their right shoulder. “Ve-Geburah.”
Then they touched their left shoulder. “Ve-Gedulah.”
Then they clasped their hands before them. “Le-Olam.”
Then they pointed upward. “Amen.”
They positioned themselves into a circle, holding hands.
The seven stood motionless. Their heads were slightly bowed, their
eyes closed. They were breathing rhythmically together, filling
their lungs to the full.
An invisible, but very much felt
vibrating force, ran through their bodies and minds like a powerful
current.
From chapter 34
These are they who purchase this present life at the price
Of that which is yet to come:
Their torment shall not be eased,
Neither shall they be spared.
The Koran, Sura II : 80
From chapter 38
“The Babylonians, the Romans and the Third Reich are among those who
dared to reach for the North Star, not just in their dream, but in
their actions. They are those who have achieved true greatness.”
..........
“In order to secure the resources of this planet for our race, we
must initiate a proactive action with the view of taking absolute
control of the world by the use of economic silent weapons in a form
of quiet warfare by process of benevolent slavery and genocide.”
From chapter 40
No man can serve two masters:
For either he will hate the one, and love the other;
Or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.
Ye cannot serve God and Mammon.
Mathew 6:24
From chapter 43
How many centuries do we have to wait to see the reason, order,
discipline and purity to take over the rule of the world from the
mess the globe is in because of the so-called democracy, equality,
pluralism and a ridiculous number of religions. Men are weak. Men
must be lead by the most capable among them.
Harmony must be imposed upon the
humanity, not just prayed for and hoped for. The resources of the
planet must be controlled by the people who are advanced enough to
use them and exploit them economically.
This, our vision of the new order
for the world, is the reason why we can proudly assume the name of
the Illuminated ones.
From chapter 49
The Primordial Power is ever in action.
She is creating, preserving,
and destroying, as in play.
This power is called Kali.
-Ramakrishna
From chapter 57
This is of hell the threefold Gate,
and ruins the soul:
Desire, Rage, and Greed.
-Bhagavad Gita, XVI.
From chapter 65
“Our ultimate goal is to enlighten the humanity so that eventually
everybody will realize that we are all part of One, part of the same
creation. So that everybody will know and feel that loving fellow
human beings and other creatures and sharing the resources and
wealth is the only right way to salvation.
We would like to think that one
day, hopefully in not too distant future, there will be no need for
nations to maintain costly armed forces to threaten each other. Can
you imagine how much money could be diverted from armament to feed
the hungry of the world if the mighty and wealthy nations would not
feel the need to spend immense resources on instruments of warfare?
From chapter 69
And St Augustine did say: ‘That which is called the Christian
religion existed among the ancients and never did not exist from the
beginning of the human race.
From chapter 70
“Cabalists practise union with God through meditation and
contemplation. Consequently, I do not believe that Cabala is a
religion within a religion. Cabala is Jewish mysticism, esotericism
and theosophy, all in one.”
“The Tree of Life is a blueprint of creation. It is a kind of a
diagram of the workings of the Universe. A picture of being. The
Tree illustrates the flow of energy down from En Soph, which can be
translated as ‘absolute infinity,’ to the lower worlds and back. It
contains and shows all the laws that govern the universe and the
interaction among these laws. And following the principle of ‘as
above so below,’ the tree also gives a comprehensive understanding
of man.
In short, the Tree of Life is an
analogue of the Absolute, the Universe and Man. The principles of
the universe are also at work within us. Remember: ‘As above, so
below.’ The bottom line is: everything in the universe is subtly
dependent on everything else.”
From chapter 71
“What I find very important with the Wicca religion is the fact that
there are no dogmas. Our moral code is described in this short line:
‘Eight words the witches’ creed fulfil. If it harms none, do what
you will.’ ”
From chapter 72
“It doesn’t look good anywhere. People around the globe have
suddenly felt an urge to seek spiritual fulfillment. They have been
blinded by the religious leaders, who have led them to believe that
religion and spirituality should be the preferred values of humanity
instead of material wealth. How terribly gullible and mistaken can
people be?
The foundations of the Thule philosophy were Theosophy, Buddhism,
Aryan Hindu beliefs, Zoroastrianism and the occult. There was of
course no question of mixing of the races. There was only one
superior race, which was in possession of the Vrillic Force, the
radiant energy of the Universe.
From chapter 73
“No, Freemasonry is not a religion per se. Our philosophy
encompasses and transcends all religions. We know that different
faiths are just like different light bulbs in a house – the bulbs
are different, but the current which makes them glow is the same.
Freemasonry is the largest
nondenominational fraternity in the world; I believe that we number
approximately five million members worldwide. We are of all
religions and all races. Our philosophy is very ancient indeed, from
the times when man’s narrow-mindedness had not yet fragmented the
world with racial and religious intolerance and bigotry; from the
times when people lived by the principles of MA’AT, that is to say
by the principles of right, truth, justice, balance, harmony and
charity; when love for a fellow human being was the governing
philosophy.
Freemasonry encourages each and
every member to practice his own religion, and to respect and study
other religions as well and to allow his Brother in Masonry, and
indeed everybody else, to practice his or her own religion. One
thing we do not tolerate is intolerance.
From chapter 76
“The close association of the Thule Gesselschaft with the Nazi Party
tainted the original theosophical philosophy of Thule with an
extreme right wing Aryan and white supremacist ideology, which
happens to be the driving force of the society today. The members of
Thule Gesselschaft are, of course, well hidden. It is believed that
the headquarters these days is no longer in Germany but in the USA.”
From chapter 80
Success is the sole earthly judge of right and wrong.
-Adolf Hitler
From chapter 84
The aircraft had very little signage on it, except for a rather
prominent flag with a crest on its tail. It was a flag of two
fields, one white and the other gold. On the white part was a
strange crown which looked not unlike a beehive. Underneath the
crown there were two large keys, crossed and bound by a crimson
cord.
From chapter 89
Andrew led the way. The smell in the narrow tunnel was musty and
chalky. Murky green water on the ground rose above their ankles.
The three could hear the underground river gushing with mighty force
through its tunnels somewhere deep beneath, but they couldn’t see
it. The light of their flashlights didn’t reach far enough. They
knew that should they fall into the gorge, there was no chance of
survival.
From chapter 95
The World will never be the dwelling place of Peace
till Peace has found a home in the heart of each and
every person; till every person preserves in himself
the Peace ordained by God to be preserved.
-Pacem in Terris, Pope John, 1963
From chapter 98
“In Hinduism, reincarnation is a school for one’s Atman, one’s soul.
The law of Karma rules samsara, which is the bondage of life, death
and rebirth. The aim for every human being is to know one’s Atman
and to live a calm, loving and selfless life, which can only come
from that knowledge of self.
When your Atman becomes perfect, it
will reach moksha, liberation, a release from the continuous rounds
of rebirths. Until then, Atman has to be reborn as karma dictates.
So, it is the right way to make sure that one’s way of life results
in good karma.”
..........
Sufism is a mystical path to the Beloved. A path to God. Sufis do
not practice religion in a formal way. We believe that the Creator
should be loved for the sake of returning His limitless love; not
for fear of Hell or for promise of Paradise. We believe that one can
reach God here and now by surrendering to the Source.
We believe that one does not need
to depart this world to commune with the Divine, and that one can do
it without a help of an intermediary. What one does need to do to
achieve this ‘knowing’ of God is to master one’s lower self, one’s
ego.
Sufism is a very friendly school,
if I say so myself. We Sufis love Jesus and Muhammad and Buddha and
everyone else who spoke the word of the Beloved.”
...........
“No, Buddha is not God; he is the teacher. We follow and worship
Buddha’s teachings. The paths of Buddha’s teachings we call Dharma.
Although we do revere the great teacher, we do not worship him.
Certainly not in the western sense of the word,” replied the monk.
“Buddha means ‘the enlightened one’.
There have been many Buddhas in the
history of mankind. In fact we believe that Jesus was one of them.
We follow the path of one particular Buddha. His name was Siddhartha
Gautama, and he lived about 500 years before the advent of Jesus
Christ.”
From chapter 105
The seven then turned again to the east. They stretched their arms
in the form of a cross and chanted:
“Before me - Raphael,
Behind me - Gabriel,
At my right hand - Michael
At my left hand - Uriel.
Before me flames the pentagram;
behind me shines the six-rayed star.”
From chapter 106
Their powerful searchlights reached deep down into the shaft and
bounced off a white object approximately fifty feet down. The
officers radioed their commander to report their find.
It had been speculated that the water table beneath the mine was one
of the underground branches of the River Thames. Whether this was
true did not matter much at the time of retreat. The last thing they
heard was a muffled bang deep down in the entrails of the old Dene
Hole. Then the ground beneath them caved in.
From chapter 108
The hologram slowly formed into the expected shape. In front of
them, only a few feet away, an old man with snow-white hair and a
long snow-white beard, dressed in intricately woven oriental
clothing made of silk, sat cross-legged on an enormous Nile
crocodile. On the old man’s arm perched a large goshawk.
From chapter 110
The sky thundered and the earth trembled. The thick darkness of the
longest night was ripped apart by lightning.
In that flash, the ground ceased to afford support. Gravity was no
more. The horizon shifted askew. Where was east, where was west? The
island was hurt. Its crust was throbbing and heaving. Its ley lines
looked like long gaping wounds....
